Happy New Year 2010!!!
.
.
Hereby, wishing everyone a great year ahead with lots of lots of happiness and joy.
.
.
At the meanwhile, Year 2009 is the most unforgettable year for me. Many of my dreams came true and so much happening throughout the year itself. The different experience I had in UK in Year 2009 is truly precious. It changes the way I look at life and it made me appreciates the people around me even more. Although there were moments and days which I felt extremely stressful dealing with difficult situations, but I am very grateful for being able to cope it. It makes me believed that learning through experience is the most significant thing in life. Indeed, there were lots of great and unforgettable moments in this particular year. I am truly grateful to meet new people and made great friends throughout the year. Get to know people from many different countries, different courses and people with different determination was remarkable.

On the other hand, one of the best experiences I had was having the great opportunity to visit the various countries which I always wanted to do so. It was such a wonderful experience with the realization of certain parts of this world has such beautiful scenery. I am hereby looking forward to a brand new year and hoping that I will have an even better year with much more great experience in life. However, Year 2010 is gonna be a very stressful and challenging year for me.

It was a Saturday in Sheffield and I decided to go for practice in the morning. However, my student card doesn’t not allow me to swipe and get into the sound house practice studio due to the system. So, I decided to take a walk and hang out around Sheffield.

Then, we headed to Meadowhall shopping centre which is the only shopping mall they have in Sheffield. It is not too small but neither huge. It took around 25 minutes by Tram to the mall and since it was a weekend, so the tram was pack with people. It was rather disappointing that the entire shopping mall does not really have restaurants and cafe after few hours of walking around.

First week in Sheffield was extremely busy. It was induction and registration week for all the Sheffield Uni students. Indeed, the induction programme was great and gets to know people around. Besides, I had been spending some time at the gym since it is just a few minutes’ walk away from my room.

Sheffield Uni’s student union is happening. It is huge and they have almost everything there; souvenir shops, theatre, cinema, several bars and cafe etc. Around the evening, we went to a concert at Upper Chapel at the city centre for some performance. My main intention is to check out my future piano tutor’s performance. We are also entitle for some student discount at the concert.
.
.
.

.
.

The performance was awesome. Both pianist and strings player are really good! After concert, it was quite late and I was extremely tired. The moment went to bed; I couldn’t even hear a single noise of my flatmates who partying outside my corridor.

Once arriving at Sheffield, the very first thing I did was to get down to the city and shop for the entire day. Indeed, I spent my first two days just for shopping. I wouldn’t choose to shop in the first place if it wasn’t because of I very much needed to get a duvet, pillow, bed cover etc. As for my room, it is real cosy. I just love my en-suite room since it is really comfortable and I have my own private attach bath room.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
One of the best things is, the city is just 20 minutes walk from my room. It is absolutely convenient and I would say is a good place for shopping. However, I still prefer the shopping heaven in London. I miss Oxford Street in London but definitely will make a trip there for shopping someday!

On the same day which I will be leaving to UK once again, my mum suggested to have Dim Sum for breakfast at Thai Thong Restaurant together with some relatives. I love the Dim Sum there and definitely missing all the tasty food which I had back in Malaysia.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Time to leave home and loved ones again. I headed to KLIA around evening and check in immediately. I knew my luggage gonna be overweight by 2 Kgs but I did not bother to take some of my stuff out since I really wanna bring all of them to UK. So I ended up taking some of my contact lenses solution out from my luggage at the airport check in counter. ^-^’’
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

This time I took Etihad airways instead of any other airlines. It was also my first time flying with Etihad and I think the airline is pretty good in terms of their service and food. Anyway, I wouldn’t mention that I enjoy flying due to the extremely long hours of flight and thinking of flying again, it makes me feel really exhausted.
.
.
.
.
.
.
However, we were lucky to have the most spacious seat of all where I can have my legs stretch for at least the first 7 hours journey before I proceed for another 7 hours flight. I had my transit at Abu Dhabi airport and that airport is similar to luxury shopping complex. Sadly, time is restricted for me to check out the shops there since my transit is just less than two hours.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Finally after the long journey, I touch down Manchester Airport around seven in the morning. I seriously miss Heathrow airport for no reason. Then we have the University of Sheffield’s coach to fetch us to Sheffield which is another 2 hours journey. By the time I reach my room in Sheffield, I was too tired to feel the exhaustion in me. Instead, I went to the city to do some necessary shopping on that day itself. To be continue on the next entry—Stay Tune!

One day before I leave Malaysia for the second time, I had lunch at 1U with my parents and brother. We had Japanese and Chinese buffet at Shogun. It was a Friday and I really do appreciate that my mum actually took half a day off and rush back all the way from her office just to have lunch with me!!! I might sound over excited? But you probably do not know my mom is an extremely busy lady and this is the first time ever that she would take day off for that reason. The lunch was perfect “not in terms of the dishes”!

In Shogun, they had pretty much of varieties of dishes at my first glance. However, it wasn’t that much or probably slightly more dishes as compared to my last visit. Anyway, it has been ages since my last visit there and the food seems to be not as good as previously. In my view, they have neglected one of the important phrases in the aspect of food which is “Quality not Quantity”.

Craving for delicious seafood anyone? Well then, Unique seafood is the place you should visit. Let me introduce to you some delicious and mouth watering seafood dish from Unique seafood. It was my first time there for dinner together with my uncle’s family. Unique seafood is located at PJ and if you know where Jaya 33 is, you will have no difficulties locating the restaurant since it is just around the corner.

Unique seafood is huge and they have all the imported seafood from various countries. You will find all types of seafood you wish. However, the seafood there is really pricy since they are all imported and most importantly they are absolutely fresh. My uncle ordered pretty much that night and all dish were scrumptious!!! Go on and give it a try!

Back in Malaysia, I visited the KL Bird Park since dad has got the entrance ticket in

As compared to my previous visit to KL Bird Park, there were not many changes I have seen so far. It was pretty much the same as last time. The only difference is probably the amount of different species of birds had increase. Anyhow, the birds are all lovely especially the colourful ones.

Then, we headed to 1U for lunch at Nandos. The main reason is to make comparison between the Nandos in Malaysia and Nandos in UK in the aspect of taste. I could remember Nandos in Malaysia does not taste as great as the ones in UK. Surprisingly, the Nandos at 1U turns out to be good! They might have improved on their quality but I still prefer UK ones!

During my six weeks break back in Malaysia, I visited Taiping for a couple of days. The entire trip was truly great and it was a memorable one for me and my family. My uncle brought everyone to Port Well for lunch as a celebration for my graduation. Thanks uncle!!!

Port Well is a fishing village situated not far from Taiping town itself. Estimation time for driving is around 30 minutes from Taiping. At Port Well, we had authentic seafood since all the fish, crab, squid and prawns were really fresh. I could remember my last visit there for seafood was 6-7 years ago. Time flies and I could not lie but try.

Big Warm Congratulation to my sister on her graduation day!!!

Sadly, it is not the honeydew melon that I wanted, it does not taste good.

After a gathering at 1U, I headed to PJ to meet the gang for dinner. It has been a while since we sat down and have a good chat together. Three of us, Teck, Lily and I reached there pretty early and we waited at this cafe known as “Little Dim Sum’ at SS2 for the rest to arrive.

.
The weather was no good and it was raining cats and dogs. So, everyone was stuck in the heavy traffic. The moment everyone arrived, we ordered some Dim Sum and main dishes. I would say the food there was just okay and the service was real bad. It took ages for our fried rice to be served.

That night, our table was the noisiest among all and had a great night chatting and cracking jokes. We sat there for nearly four hours and we left for our second round which is just few doors away. Since we were all craving for sago desserts, so we headed to K.T.Z for the desserts. It was my second time there and I think they have the best sago desserts so far!

After walking around, we headed for dessert at one of a shop known as “Honey” and it is located at 1U new Wing. They have all and different kinds of hot/cold ‘Tong Sui’ desserts there. Their menu looks pretty tempting and too many varieties of desserts to choose from. The only thing they do not have in their menu is my favourite “Honeydew Sago” and that was disappointing. Their desserts are quite nice and I would recommend to all my dear readers to check it out. Then, I headed to PJ for the next gathering and I’ll post it on the next entry. Cheers!

Japanese food! It has been a month I did not have any Japanese food. I miss it! Back in Malaysia, my friends recommend me a Japanese Restaurant known as ‘Umai-Ya’ and so we went there for the buffet lunch. It is located at Uptown, PJ. The buffet lunch session is at the price of rm 48++ per adult and so it comes to around rm 56 per person.

Ever since I went back to Malaysia, mum has been cooking all her great home cooked dishes for dinner. I realized I am crazily in love with home cook food nowadays rather than eating outside. Anyway, it has been a year I did not visit ‘Good Evening Bangkok’ for Thai food. My dad is absolutely a big fan of that Thai restaurant in 1U. So we went there for dinner! I have captured some pics on some of the dishes and they taste pretty good though. I do think the Tom Yam soup taste great just as the one in ‘Just Thai’! If you ever visit ‘Good Evening Bangkok, I will surely recommend you to try their ‘Otak Otak in Young coconut’. It tastes awesome!

Museum Mania! I am glad that I finally paid a visit to Malaysia’s museum (Museum Negara) with the girls. When all of us were in London, we promise to meet up and make a trip to KL Museum. The reason was, we had been to several museums in London such as British Museum, Hollytree Museum (in Colchester), London Transport Museum, Science Museum and Natural history Museum. Yet, all of us have not been to our beloved Museum Negara and I do really think we should check it out :)

Well, we spent less than two hours there and we headed for lunch at 1U. Again, we could not decide what to have for lunch and we ended up at this Japanese Restaurant and I could not recall the name of the restaurant. Anyway, the dishes there are just fine. Great day!!!

Time flies, the month of September ended and now is October. Anyhow, this entry was two months ago in August and due to the tight schedule I have every single day, I have so limited time to update my blog. Hope you enjoy some scrumptious food pics from Chilis!

That night, managed to meet up with some friends for dinner at 1U except Teck couldn’t join us that night. Yes?!? Is 1U again, the official gathering place for me. Is great to see everyone and as usual, we could not decide where to have our dinner. Initially, we went to New York Deli and we actually sat down. However, everyone was much more interested in catching up rather than looking at what is tempting in the menu.

So, we decided to change dinner place to Chilis since we can have some drink before we order any meals. It has been ages since I went there and I kind of miss the food there. Anyhow, the food doesn’t taste as nice as before. We spent three hours there and great night!
